Post medieval copper alloy dress fastener, 34mm long, 18mm wide and 4mm thick with a weight of 4.71grams.
The object is oval in form and is decorated with a series of incised lines creating a scallop shell effect. This is slightly cancave and hollow underneath. At the upper edge it has two tapering projections forming a V shape terminal and on each side under this is a circular fixing loop. Theres are traces of a third broken loop at the far end, this would have formed the 'eye' part of a two part dress fastener with a duplicate mount having a hooked end.
