Mesolithic (10,000 to 4,000BC) core: The core is cylindrical with a sub-oval section. The core appears to be used to short, narrow blades and has two striking platforms, one either end. One side face has a small patch of cortex which has been mainly been removed. There is some recent abrasion and crazing at each terminal edge. The flint is a dark grey colour.
The core measures 30.42mm long, 31.56mm wide, is 24.49mm thick and weighs 28.47g.
The core dates to the Mesolithic period, based on the small blade scars.
