An incomplete and corroded possible palstave or chisel of possible Late Middle Bronze Age date (c. 1200 BC-1001 BC).
A break has occurred just above a depression on each side which are possibly the remains of shield-shaped stops and a small portion of septum. The blade is roughly oval in cross-section and the sides taper inwards from the break at the top to the flaring cutting edge. The cutting edge is evenly curved.
This implement is light green and corroded overall. Small patches of brown patina can be seen on each side of the blade, close to the cutting edge. There is no indication of any decoration or casting seams.
Length: 79.8mm; width of blade: 32.0mm; width at break: 20.9mm; maximum thickness (just below stops): 13.9mm. Weight: 89.43g.
