Roman (late 3rd - 4th century AD) bracelet fragment: The artefact is a terminal of a penannular bracelet. The terminal is sub-oval in section, expanded in width and decorated with three pairs of fine, narrowed grooves. The bracelet protrudes from the terminal, and is narrowed and tapers to a broken edge, but the break is not recent.
The surface of the bracelet has a light green, well-developed patina which is slightly abraded.
It measures 34.46mm long, 9.61mm wide and weighs 9.51g.
A similar example is illustrated in Crummy (1983, Figure 46, No. 1717) and is dated to the late 3rd to 4th century.
