A complete copper-alloy stud of uncertain date, although possibly Roman due to its context. The stud possesses a head which is circular in plan and hemispherical in section. The head is divided into eight moulded cells. From the underside of the head, there extends a circular-section stem which abruptly tapers at about the halfway point. The very end of the stem is hammered flat. The length of the stud is 17.4mm, the diameter is 12.4mm and the weight is 3.4 grams.
