A flint Mesolithic microlith dating from 8000 BC - 4000 BC. It is a Group B geometric microlith. It is formed on a tertiary flake of mottled light grey flint. It is rectangular in plan and triangular in cross-section. There is short, abrupt, sub-parallel retouch along one long edge. It is 23.5mm long, 5.9mm wide and 2.1mm thick. 0.31g.
Notes:
Gorple Reservoir Site Six. This site has circular stone features which are visible when the water level is low which have been surveyed and drawn by Dr David Shepherd, Frank Jolley and Karen Gibson of the South Pennine Archaeology Network with the kind consent of Yorkshire Water.
