A dispersed hoard of two Iron Age early uninscribed gold staters of the so-called "Chute/Cheriton Transitional" type (ABC 752: Cottam et al, Ancient British Coinage 2010, p.57; Van Arsdell 1210-1 'Durotrigan C', p.291; BMC 88-128), dating to c.65-40 BC.

Coin 1 weighs 6.16g and measures 17.8mm in diameter. DA = 7. It is more silvery in appearance than coin 2.

Coin 2 weighs 6.05g and measures 17.5mm in diameter. DA = 9. It is more yellowy/ orange in appearance than coin 1.

Obverse: Abstract head of Apollo facing right, leaves downwards, spike with long crescent ('turf cutter' (ABC))
Reverse: Disjointed horse with long neck going left, pellets above, crab beneath, two (visible) horizontal tails

The coins are an addendum to Treasure case 2012 T82 (HAMP-10C632) and 2015 T15 (HAMP-D53653). They satisfy the terms of the Treasure Act with regard to number, age and metal content.
