A partially worn medieval silver short cross penny of Henry III (1216-1272) minted at Canterbury by Walter 1216-1217. Short Cross class 6d, North 977.
Obverse: facing bust with pellet crown, sceptre left and two curls wihtout pellets on each side. Leg.: 'HENRICVS R/EX'. Reverse: Voided short cross with quatrefoil in each angle. Leg.: 'WA[LT]ER ON CANT'. Obverse bust quite worn, some letters not clealry formed.
