An incomplete copper alloy Roman T-shaped derivative brooch dating to the period c. AD 50 - 150. The pin, lower bow, foot and catchplate are missing. The brooch measures 29.48mm in length, 20.58mm maximum width, 6.74mm minimum width, is 8.76mm thick and weighs 6.71g.
The head exhibits incomplete cylindrical wings which house the remains of the copper alloy axis bar for the hinged pin mechanism. The wings are separated by a central pin slot. Directly above the pin slot is a projecting plate or tab whcih terminates in an old break.
The bow arches back from the head and tapers along its length to an old break. It exhibits a central longitudinal groove running from approximately two thirds of the way down the bow to the break point.
