A Post Medieval copper-alloy D-sectioned hollow-backed hooked fastener with a diagonal grid decoration, dating from c. 1500-1550. It is complete except for some of the backing plate which has broken off. The fastener was probably inlaid with niello.
Cf. Ward Perkins 1940, pl. LXXVI no.9. Read 2008 early post-medieval single sharp-hooked Class C Type 3. Early 16th century.
