A fragment from a cast copper alloy Roman brooch, probably a Hod Hill style brooch dating to the later first century AD (c. AD 43-75). The fragment comprises the very foot of the brooch; the lower bow is decorated with two horizontal ribs of collars with five vertical ribs above. The reverse of the foot of the brooch retains much of the catchplate. The rest of the brooch is missing.
