A copper alloy post medieval pot leg dating to the period c AD1700 - 1900. The plain leg has a very worn rounded foot and terminates in a worn break at the top. It is D-shaped in cross section with a gently convex outer face and a flat inner surface. There is a green/brown patina on both surfaces. The pot leg measures 23.08mm in length, 19.30mm in width, 9.48 in thickness and weighs 17.71g.
Butler et al. suggest that this simple design is characteristic of all 18th and 19th skillets. Examples can be found in Butler et al, datasheet 41, pg 4.
