A Post-medieval, copper alloy coin weight for the second coinage Rose Ryal of James I, dating from AD 1612 - 1632. It is square in plan and flat, with champfered sides. The upper surface carries the mark of value XXXIII beneath a crown and above a letter S, all within a beaded circle. There is a countermark of a crowned I at 11.00. The reverse carries the device of a shield of British arms superimposed on a rose, all within a beaded circle. The die axis is 3o'clock. The weight has dark green patina and is in good condition.
