A complete cast copper-alloy pin from an annular buckle dating to the Medieval period, c. 1250-1500. The pin is broadly sub-rectangular in plan view and sub-triangular in profile, with an open loop at one end where it would have attached to the strap bar of the buckle. The pin at the loop itself is sub-circular in section, while becoming sub-rectangular as it initially thickens before tapering to a relatively blunt point. On the upper surface of the pin at its thickest point, a prominent decorative protrusion demonstrates four transverse ridges before thinning again as it forms the midpoint of the object. The pin measures 45.09mm long, 3.38mm wide at its loop, 3.86mm wide at its midpoint, 6.59mm thick at its thickest point and 4.16mm thick at its midpoint. It weighs 4.4 grammes.
Similar pins are illustrated by Egan and Pritchard (2002, 57, no. 28) who date them in London contexts from the late 14th to early 16th century.
