An incomplete post-Medieval copper-alloy mount (c. 1600-c. 1700).
This mount is sub-circular in plan and is in the form of a flower head with petals. There is a stylised quatrefoil motif at the centre consisting of four 'petals' with a central pellet. The rear face has two integral spikes. These are sub-rectangular in cross-section. One spike is complete and just a stub of the other survives.
This mount is corroded and is abraded around the edge, It has a patchy dark green patina with traces of a white metal coating at the front.
