A probably lead button. The item has a solid domed head decorated with a moulded quatrefoil with a pellet in angles. The perimeter is decorated with a band of lines. Four strands of lead project from the base of the head, and these are all convex, curving outwards and then meeting again at the base. The base has a small hole in it.
The decoration of the head is similar to that seen on post-medieval lead buttons, and some lead tokens. The item is recorded as a button, but the identification is tentative.
