A complete cast, Post Medieval lead-alloy weight. AD 1600-1800. The weight is conical with a domed crown from which the body gently tapers to a flat base which has a small circular indentation. The weight was formed by pouring molten lead into a thimble casing then allowing it to cool. Concentric pits are present around the top of the object and from these indentations of incised lines follow a spiral pattern around the circumference of the body to the base. Although this object has been described as a weight, it may also be a gaming piece. It is a pale grey white in colour. See SUSS-F5DCD6 for a parallel.
