A complete copper-alloy sestertius of Commodus, dating c. 180-181 AD. Reece period 9, mint of Rome. Reverse; PROV DEOR TR P V IMP IIII COS II PP S-C, Providentia standing left, holding sceptre in left hand and wand in outstretched right hand, globe at feet. Mint of Rome. RIC III, p. 402, no. 301. The coin is preserved in extremely good condition, with an even green patina covering most of its surfaces.
