Copper alloy and glass finger ring Cast D section band, widest at the bezel and diminishing towards the opposite side of the band which is now parted at that point, with three sunken settings: a central square flanked by rhomboids. The central setting retains a facetted stone of white [colourless] glass with its surface just proud of the hoop; the other settings are now empty. The sunken form is sometimes referred to as 'Gypsy Set'. A dark tint may arise from treatment of the object with oil by the finder. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1850-1900.
