An incomplete, copper alloy hooked tag, Read class E, type 1, dating from the early post-medieval period, AD 1500 - 1650. It has a rectangular body with a rectangular attachment loop above and a D section, curved hook depending from the base. The point of the hook has broken away and is missing. There is a rectangular perforation with rounded ends immediately below the attachment loop and an angular projection at each end of the bar separating body and loop. There is a further angular projection at each side of the base of the body. There is no other decoration and the reverse of the tag is plain and unmarked. It has a rough, dark brown patina. It is 23.2mm long, 13.2mm wide and 3.7mm thick. It weighs 1.32gm.

A similar tag is illustrated in Read, 2008, Hooked Clasps and Eyes, page 89, number 301.
