An incomplete copper alloy pin of middle Early-Medieval (Anglo-Saxon) date. The head is globular and flat on top. It is decorated with a twisted and grooved design and the top is incised with a cross. At the base of the head is a single banded circumferential collar from which the worn remains of a circular-sectioned shaft extends terminating in a worn break.
The metal has a mid-green patina and is worn. The pin is 12.5mm long, 9.8mm in diameter at the head, 1.8mm in diameter at the shaft and weighs 3.3g.
