TOKEN

Unique ID: SUSS-A70685

Object type certainty: Certain
Workflow status: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation

A cast lead token. The token is flat and almost circular in shape, though it has now been bent out of shape (the reverse is concave). The obverse depicts two capital letters, the first is possibly an R or a K, the second is a T. There is a small pellet between the legs of the R or K and there is a diagonal line after the T. The reverse is blank. This token probably dates to the medieval period, but a later post-medieval date cannot be ruled out. The surface of the token has a number of scratches, which could have been caused by the plough.
