A complete post-medieval lead-alloy biface token dating to the 17th century. Powell type 2.
Both sides are identical and depict the initials L over I A, arranged in a triad, on both sides of the token. There is a pellet either side of the letter L and a pellet below the letters I A. There is a raised toothed border around the edge of each side of the token.
Dimensions: diameter: 14.62 mm; thickness: 1.75 mm; weight: 1.97 g
The token is similar in deisgn to many examples illustrated by Mitchiner and Skinner (1984, 187/plate 16), for example nos 44 and no.45, which are dated to the 17th century.
