An Iron Age silver unit of Cunobelinus, dating AD10-40. This coin is of the Man horse type, ABC no. 2828. The obverse depicts a rectangular panel, seemingly with letters spelling CAMVL, but it is unclear. There is a dolphin above and beneath the panel, all of which are encircled in a wreath. The reverse depicts a centaur galloping left, with a palm behind and ring-and-dot motif below. CVNO would have been inscribed along the lower edge. There is a lot of light-mid green staining on both sides of the coin, which may indicate the presence of copper. The coin does not appear to be a silver plated copy, based on examination of a break along the edge. The green may indicate silver sulphide forming on the outer surface.
