An incomplete copper-alloy hooked tag of Early-Medieval date. It is missing the integral hook due to old breaks, as well as the central decorative element on the front face, but is otherwise complete. The object is flat, oval shaped in form with two semi-circular sewing lugs each with central circular apertures extending from the top of the plate. At the base the plate narrowsto a transverse collar from whcih originaly extended the now missing hook. The front face of the plate has decoration comprising a border of punched dots that outline the plate and each of the sewing holes. At the centre is a recessed rectangular panel within which would have originally been set additional decoration, perhaps silver wire or similar, but this is now missing due to old breaks. The entire object measures 25.03mm in length, 15.05mm in width, 1.12mm in thickness, and 1.87g in weight.
This is an incomplete hooked tag of Early-Medieval date. It finds parallels in examples published by Read (2008: no. 135) and is of later Early-Medieval date, c.9th-12th centuries AD.
