Lead spindle whorl. Cast cylindrical whorl with a moulded aperture of diameter 6mm, Walton Rogers form B; patinated. The small spindle size would make an Anglo-Saxon date possible, though the cylindrical form is more usually associated with Anglo-Scandinavian contexts. The mass would permit this to be used to spin a yarn. Suggested date: Early Medieval, 700-1000.
Diameter: 20.0mm, Thickness: 7.1mm, Weight: 19.58gms.
