A complete worn enamelled copper-alloy quatrilobed shaped harness pendant of Medieval date, c. 1150-1450 (Clark 1995, 62).
The object is quatrilobed with an integral, projecting upper suspension loop. The face is decorated with a repeating raised pattern consisting of four red enamelled sexfoils without a central pellet, giving the pattern a floral form. There is a dark enamel (which may originally have been cobalt blue) band dividing the flowers and respecting the raised surrounding border which respects the form of the object. The remaining space on the face appears to have been gilded or silvered as seen from a few specs of surviving silver/gold specs. The back of the object is slightly concave and undecorated.
The metal where not decorated is mottled various shades of dark green with areas of light green corrosion.
Measurements: 34.42mm high, 25.65mm wide, 6.62mm thick and 8.59g in weight.
