An incomplete copper alloy medieval buckle plate, dating AD 1250-1500. The buckle plate is formed from a single sheet folded widthways. The plate is rectangular shape with a recess to hold the pin. The front face is decorated with a zig zag border. The reverse is undecorated. The buckle plate has four perforations which would have containted rivets. Three are located at the tip and the perforations were pierced through the obverse. A further rivet has been pierced through the reverse.
The buckle plate measures 30.94mm in length, 21.61mm in width, 6.26mm in thickness and weights 5.49g.
