A complete lead weight of uncertain date. The weight is conical with a circular base which tapers to flattened apex. A central perforation is present from the apex through to the base. No marks or decoration are present.
The metal has a mid-brown patina and is worn. The weight is 17.6mm tall, 17.9mm in diameter and weighs 24.3g.
Plain weights were cast locally in lead from the Roman period onwards for a wide variety of uses and are hard to date precisely. Therefore, due to a lack of contextual evidence and any diagnostic features it is not possible to date this object any more closely.
