A complete silver medieval finger ring dating to c. AD 1350-1500. The object is composed of a circular band with a flattened integral, rectangular bezel and tapering rectangular shoulders. The internal face of the band is undecorated but shows signs of wear and production. The shoulders and bezel of the outer face have intricate decoration. The shoulders have a rectangular pellet border along each edge, interupted 3.67mm from the bezel by two raised crosses. The lower half of the band is decorated with symmetrical incised patterns consisting of a single horizontal row of chevrons. The facet of the bezel shows a worn cross design. The solder line of the butt joint is not visible on either face of the band.
The bezel measures 1.59mm in height, 7.56mm in length and 6.26mm in width. The shoulders measure 5.85mm wide and 1.32mm thick. This narrows to form the hoop, measuring 2.55mm wide and 1.13mm thick. External diameter measures 22.39mm and the internal diameter measures 19.24mm.
