A sherd from the rim of a wheel thrown Roman Samian type vessel dating to c AD 40-80. The outer face of the sherd is plain. The outer rim face is decroated with parallel vertical lines and a protuding edge 17.05mm from the tope edge, it is 3.37mm wide and protudes out with a thickness of 4.95mm. The fabric is oxidised orange-red colour with gloss slip with fleck of limestone inclusions. The edges show areas of reduced brown colour. The fragment weighs 31.02g. It measures 100mm in diameter, 3.94mm in width and 50.51mm in height.
Similar to Dragendorff 24/25.
