A Medieval silver coin; a short cross penny of Henry III (AD 1216 - 1272), Class 7c-b dating from AD 1222 - 1242. It was struck by IOAN CHIC at Canterbury. It is 17.1mm diameter, 0.9mm thick and 1.19g. See North number 978 - 980 on page 223 of Volume I (1994). The coin is struck slightly off flan.
