A worn, clipped and damaged silver medieval half groat of Edward II (r.1327-1377), Pre treaty series F, North Type 1175, Minted at London in 1356 with crown mintmark.

Obv.: Crowned bust facing within treasure of arches, Lis on cusps. Legend: '[+EDWARDVS REX ANGL Z]:FRC'. Rev.: Long cross dividing two band legend with three pellets in each quarter. Legend: [+PO]S/VI DEV/ADIVT/O]REM//CIV[I/TAS/LON/]DON . The coin has been extensively damged with angular chunks missing around 1-3 o'clock of the obverse and a hole through the right of the bust. Much of the detail is obscured by the damage and the wear.

Measurements: 20mm in diameter, 1mm thick and 1.03g in weight.
