A complete copper alloy post medieval crotal bell dating to the 16th to mid 17th century. The bell is complete and the pea survives..

The bell is spherical with a rectangular suspension loop at the top. A broadly triangular projection is visible in the upper hemisphere which has been perforated with a drilled circular hole. Two broadly circular perforations are visible in the upper hemisphere. Around the circumference, there is a raised ridge. The lower half of the bell has a long straight opening ending in a circular hole at each end, each just below the raised circumferential ridge. The bell is 28.45mm in diameter, and with the loop included, the height is 35.08mm. The bell weighs 30.07g. It has a dark grey patina.
