An incomplete Medieval to post-Medieval copper-alloy double-looped buckle (c. 1350-c. 1650).
One loop is missing but the stubs survive.
This buckle frame is convex at the front and flat at the rear. The bar is 'D'-shaped in cross-section. The pin is 'D'-shaped in cross-section, flat at the rear.
The frame is corroded and brown with patches of a dark green patina.
Frame: length: 19.0mm; width: 21.6mm; thickness: 3.2mm.
Pin: length: 19.0mm; width at loop: 3.5mm.
Overall weight: 3.43g.
Similar buckles have been published and dated c. 1350-c. 1650 AD (Whitehead 2003: 53).
