Fragment, possibly from the base, of a fine greyware vessel. It is decorated with sections of vertical lines, probably where a ?comb has been dragged across the wet surface before firing.
There are no large inclusions in the fabric and it has been highly fired. The fragment has a central horizontal rib, which would hav run horizontally around the vessel. The non-decorated face slopes away from this.
73x37x5mm, weighing 16.96g.
