Medieval gold finger ring. The band is flat internally, with nine angled concave mouldings separated by segmented ribs externally. Each moulding is engraved with a floral spray consisting of either a pointed flower head on a stem with two pairs of leaves or a five petalled flower above a single pair of leaves, both types with a transverse line with radiating lines below at the base indicating the ground. The type and orientation of the flower heads are arranged (up and down being arbitrary) - pointed down, pointed up, five petals down, pointed up, pointed down, five petals up, pointed down, pointed up, five petals down. The engraving is keyed and was almost certainly filled with enamel or niello, no certain traces of which survive.

External diameter 20mm. Internal diameter 16.5mm. Width of band 5mm. Weight 3.7g.

For a very similar late 14th century example see Oman (1974, pl.21A). For examples with a bezel but similar decoration on the band see NARC-F8A45E and SOM-21BA62, both 15th century.
