Copper alloy unidentified object probably dating from the post medieval or early modern period, that is the 17th-19th century. It appears complete and undamaged. Is is composed of two components: an elongated piece of bronze which is bent at the top and a small iron rivet which connects the bent-over top to the main body of the mount. The hook at the top is leaf-shaped and there may have been some moulded scrollwork or simple interlace decoration on the obverse. The shank of the mount is decorated with a line of circlets or simple interlace. There appears to be wear on the inside of the 'hook' suggesting that it may have been served an attachment for a ring or a link, or possibly another mount with a hooked terminal. However, the function is unknown. It may possibly from a cart, horse harness, or piece of furniture.
