A copper-alloy buckle plate of Medieval date. It is rectangular in form with rectangular frame recesses and pin slot, and lower/back plate that is narrower and shorter than the upper plate. At each corner and at the centre of the plate are circular rivet holes retaining separately cast copper-alloy rivets with large globular heads. The front face of the upper plate has decoration comprising a single grooved border and the remains of relatively thickly applied gilding. It measures 44.95mm in length, 21.73mm in width, 3.88mm in thickness, and 12.90g in weight. This buckle plate is of Medieval date, c.13th-14th centuries AD.
