Copper alloy Anglo-Saxon strap-end dating to the 9th century. The strap-end measures 29.48mm in length, 14.32mm in width and 2.15mm in thickness and weighs 3.15g. The strap-end has slightly convex sides and tapers towards the zoomorphic terminal end. At the strap end of the object there are two rivet holes where it would have been attached to a strap, these are within small circular lugs that project slightly outwards from the main plate of the strap-end. The central plate or panel has an oval of decoration but it is unclear what this represents. The terminal is zoomorphic with a rounded nose and in the centre between the animals eyes, there is another rivet hole. The back of the strap end is flat and undecorated but all three rivet holes are visible.
