A complete copper alloy, single loop, oval composite buckle with integral forked spacer and sheet metal buckle plates, dating from the Medieval period, AD 1350 - 1450. The frame is bevelled on the upper side and lipped on the outer edge with a slight pin notch. The pin is partially missing. The copper alloy plates are plain. They are shaped at the attachment ends into two V shaped notches. A copper alloy rivet joins them and is positioned between the two notches. The buckle has a dark green patina and the plates are a light brown. It is 32mm long, 16mm wide. 3.54g.
