An incomplete copper-alloy strap fitting, probably a buckle plate, of Medieval date. It is rectangular in form, incomplete at the frame end due to old breaks, and with the remains of a central rectangular pin slot. At the centre of the plate is a single circular rivet hole, with similar rivet holes in each corner of the attachment end. The front(?) face has the remains of an added white metal coating or solder. It measures 39.67mm in length, 14.76mm in width, 0.48mm in thickness, and 2.28g in weight.
This is an incomplete probable buckle plate. It is likely to date to the Medieval period, c.13th-14th centuries AD, although a slightly earlier or later date range cannot be ruled out entirely given the preservation of the object.
