Sheet copper alloy trapezoidal end cap from a medieval scale tang knife narrowing beyond the narrow end into an integral hook engaged with a wire ring. The terminal of the tang is set in an apparently punched hole nearer the other end. Length 28.5mm. Width 13 - 7mm. The oval ring is (7 x 5mm) seems too flimsy for suspension. The hook is reminscent of the pointed terminals on examples from London (Cowgill et al. 1987, cat. nos. 121 and 123). Cf. NMS-EAA1A3. 14th - 15th century.
