An incomplete copper-alloy Early-Medieval (c.1000-1100) D-shaped Ringerike style buckle.
The buckle frame is 'D'-shaped in plan, with moulded decoration on the front and undecroated flattish on the rear. The point has a projecting knop that appears to be the tail of of one of two moulded stylised beasts the heads of which form the curve of each side of the D, with the snouts slightly project past the strap bar. The pin is now missing. The buckle is a dark green with mottled specks of light green.
