Lead and copper alloy bullet. Pointed bullet with a copper coloured metal jacket, presumably over lead, with a milled billeted circumferential band. There is a hollow containing off-white material in the base. Longitudinal striations may either indicate the round has been fired, or may arise from the insertion or extraction of bullet into/out of its cartridge case. The calibre, of 7.6mm or 0.3 inch, might be apt to a rifle or machine gun of 20th-century type; the latter might include the armament of aeroplanes during the Second World War as well as military or paramilitary practice or recreational firing. Suggested date: Modern, 1920-1960.
