A complete tin-coated-copper alloy dress hook eye of Post-Medieval date. The objects is ovate with a rectangular loop to the widest end and three attachment lobes; two to either side of the loop and one at the opposite end. The upper surface bears moulded decoration in the form of plumage extending from the upper and lower ends towards the centre. A plain band is present between the two elements. The reverse of the object is slightly concaved.
The metal has a dull grey patina and is worn. The object is 16.3mm long, 12.6mm wide, 2.7mm thick and weighs 1g.
This example is closest to Read's Class A, Type 2 though is much smaller than most examples. Similar examples have been recorded with the PAS, including NMS-A40B20 and NMS-1C2644.
