A copper alloy and gilded fitting of Medieval date, of uncertain function. The object consists of an arm, which is D-shaped in cross-section, and a semi-circular incomplete 'frame'. The arm flattens towards its terminal end where it turns at a 90 degree angle and terminates with a rounded end which is pierced with a regular circular hole. The hole has an internal diameter of 3mm and probably held a rivet. Towards the other end of the arm is a large rounded 'bossed' rivet which remains in-situ. This measures 4.5mm in width and 5mm in height. The arm then separates and narrows forming an incomplete semi-circular 'frame'. The frame terminates with rounded breaks which occurred during antiquity. On the internal edge of the frame above the arm are two projections, one is a rounded point or spike while the other is a sub-rectangular flattened tab.

The outer face of the object is decorated with the remains of gilding containing lattice-work decoration. The object has a light green patina and the rear is undecorated. The exact function of this object is unknown although it appears to be functional such as some sort of harness or vessel fitting. The gilding and lattice-work suggests it dates to the Medieval period.
