A Roman, probably Nene Valley, colour-coated sherd from a small vessel. It has a dark grey slip on both surfaces, which are hard and smooth, and external rouletted decoration. The fabric is fine-grained and pink/buff with fine voids, calcite and scant mica inclusions. Fractures are fine and abraded. It is dated to between c100 to c400 AD. The length is 20mm, the width, 26 mm, the thickness, 3 mm and it weighs 2.71 gms.
