A complete cast uniface circular medieval to post-medieval lead token. Powell Type 9 depicting an irregular geometric pattern, dating to c. 1250-c. 1800. The token's decoration includes a total of five pellets. The reverse is blank. The token is of a light grey colour.
The token is 17.92mm in diameter, 2.41mm thick and weighs 7.8g.
Notes:
Lead tokens had a wide variety of potential uses such as tallies, gaming pieces, tickets, weights, etc. and are believed to have been locally produced; they are therefore difficult to date precisely. Therefore those with simple designs are given a more general medieval to post-medieval date
