A complete Medieval to Post Medieval cast lead alloy uniface token, dating from c. A 1250-1800. Powell Type 7. One face of the token has cross hatching,the other side is blank. The token is of a dark grey colour.
Diameter 18.52mm. Thickness 2.77mm Weight:5.9gms.
Lead tokens had a wide variety of potential uses such as tallies, gaming pieces, tickets, weights, etc. and are believed to have been locally produced; they are therefore difficult to date precisely. Therefore those with simple designs are given a more general Medieval to Post Medieval date.
